Nursing Assistant


Downtown Milwaukee, Health Education Center (HEC) at 1311 North Sixth Street in Milwaukee, Oak Creek, West Allis campuses 


This is a one-course, three-credit program to become an entry-level bedside caregiver. The course focuses on basic nursing skills and procedures to assist others with their daily living activities and specialized care needs.
This program fulfills the Nursing Assistant training requirement for admission into the Registered Nursing and Practical Nursing programs.

Bilingual Option: Students are instructed in English, but selected sections are specific for the bilingual learner.

Career Outlook: Employment opportunities are available through nursing homes, hospitals, home health agencies and private-duty practice settings.

Career Pathway: This technical diploma ladders into both the Practical Nursing technical diploma and the Registered Nursing associate degree. Contact an MATC advisor for details.

High school students may be eligible for dual enrollment to earn college credits while in high school and may have the opportunity to seek related employment.
